CEO Update spoke with former Michigan Governor John Engler about his views on associations, lobbying, and his transition from an elected official to an association CEO. Q: Prior to coming to NAM, you had a long and distinguished career in politics. What attracted you to NAM? A: When I left the governor’s office in Michigan in 2003, I went to EDS as President of their state and local government unit.
